1. Take a listen to a prospective supplier's demo
CD and a look at their catalog. Is each track described?
Are formats clearly shown? |
 |
2. Is it possible to listen to every
track on a CD in its entirety online before purchase or
must you make a decision based on a few edited samples and make
the assumption that these cuts reflect all cuts on a disc or
genre offered? |
 |
3. Must you buy an entire package or
can you buy just one CD or download just one track in CD quality? |
 |
4. Is there plenty of variety available
and at various price levels, formats and demographics? |
 |
5. Is there real depth to a proposed
package or are discs merely filled with mix-outs and edit outs
rather than providing more unique music thematics? |
 |
6. Does a proposed package provide
a license that grants the rights necessary: Mechanical,
Synchronization and Public Performance, while warranting that
the proposed vendor actually has the power to grant the license? |
 |
7. Does the proposed vendor offer
not only good single disc pricing but also discounts for multiple
disc purchases? Is it possible to mix and match in the
vendor's package and still earn discounts? Does the vendor
offer, educational, government and non-profit discounts? |
 |
8. Does the proposed vendor produce
the music it sells or is it an add on package designed
to be a loss leader? How long has the proposed vendor
been serving the AV/Video market? |
